## BY-LAW RELATED TO DOG CONTROL IN THE RURAL COMMUNITY OF BEAUSOLEIL

## 5. DOG WELFARE
- (1) Where the By-law enforcement officer has reason to fear that a dog is not being properly cared for, or that there is neglect, abuse, and/or cruelty toward a dog, he will report the matter to the competent organisation.

- (1) When a dog bite has occurred:
- a) the By-law enforcement officer must conduct an investigation as soon as the complaint is lodged;
- b) the dog must be quarantined in the dog owner's home for a period of ten (10) days from the date of the bite. During the quarantine period, the dog may only leave the dwelling to defecate or urinate.
- (2) The Municipality must notify the complainant and the dog owner in writing of the outcome of the investigation within a reasonable time.
