## BY - LAW NO. 37 ## BY-LAW RESPECTING DISTURBANCE BY NOISE Pursuant to the authority of Section 11 (1) (1) 06 The Municipalities Act, BE IT ENACTED BY the council of the Town of St. George as follows: 1. No person shall make or permit to be made any noise within the Town of St. George likely to cause a public nuisance or otherwise disturb the inhabitants of the Town. 2. Without restricting the generality of Section 1, a noise likely to cause a public nuisance or otherwise disturb the inhabitants shall be deemed to be any noise or sounds of such volume or of such nature as te cause annoyance to residents of the Town including shouting, singing, whistling, music, , motor vehicles (including motorcycles and motor bikes), snoumobiles, pneumatic hammers, construction equipment and machinery and animal noises. 3. This By-law shall not apply to pneumatic hammers, construction equipment and machinery, vehicles of business and trade between the hours of six o'clock in the forenoon and nine o'clock in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday, inclusive, or to snow removal and emergency equipment at any time. 4. Any person who violates a provision of this By-law is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less than twenty-five ($25 lollars and not more than two hundred ($200) and in default of parment is liable to imprisonment in accordance with the appropriate provisions of The Summary Convictions  First Reading - August 22nd, 1988 Second Reading - August 22nd, 1988 Third Reading - September 16th, 1988 We hing Mayor Tas Noma: Town Manager SEAL
