Fundy Albert Policy
The Use of Municipal Resources for the Benefit of a Third Party
Definitions:
Municipal resources means municipal staff and/or municipal equipment.
Third party means persons or organizations other than the Incorporated Village of Fundy
Albert.
Policy Statements:
1. Subject to paragraph 4, municipal resources shall not be used for the benefit of a third
party unless:
a. Prior authorization is received in writing from the Chief Administrative Officer; and
b. The use complies within this policy.
2. Municipal resources may be used for the benefit of a third party provided that:
a. There is no real, or appearance of, conflict of interest with an employee of the
municipality or of a Member of Council; and
b. The benefit is primarily to assist the third party to accomplish a task that they are
ill-equipped to do themselves; and
c. The benefit is within the broad public interest of the community; and
d. The benefit is not furthering the interests of a private commercial enterprise; and
e. The value of the municipal resources expended is less that $1,000; and
f. If the benefit involves efforts at public buildings, those buildings shall be owned
and maintained by the Incorporated Village of Fundy Albert and not by other third
parties.
3. Each authorized use of municipal resources for the benefit of a third party shall be
reported by the Chief Administrative Officer to the Council at the next scheduled
Regular Council Meeting.
4. Exceptions to this policy may be authorized by a case-by-case basis with a resolution
of Council.
