## VILLAGE OF FUNDY ALBERT Statement of Health and Safety Responsibility ## & Early and Safe Return to Work The Village of Fundy Albert (the "Village") is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and secure workplace for its employees, contractors, and visitors. Our focus on Health and Safety is integral to our daily operations and aligns with our Municipality Values and is paramount in the planning and performance of our organization. The Village builds a healthy and safe workplace through the establishment of programs that enable the ongoing identification of occupational health and safety hazards, the assessment of related risks, the establishment of appropriate control measures to mitigate the risk, a return-to-work accommodation process that ensures the safe and early return to work following an injury or illness and a commitment to continuous improvement. The Village will support a safe and healthy work environment through the appointment of a Health and Safety Representative (to be voted by the employees and serve for a period of two years) who will work with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and, to the best of their ability, be proactive in health and safety initiatives, including: health and safety training, incident investigation, and return to work accommodation to develop and promote safety culture. The Village will provide the required resources to support the commitment to a safe and healthy culture and ensure that leaders and employees understand and perform their health and safety accountabilities. ## Leaders Commitment It is the accountability of all leaders to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for their employees. Leaders must be aware of and communicate about hazards in the workplace and take all reasonable precautions to protect employees from workplace injuries or illness, and ensure all employees are adequately trained. ## Employees Commitment It is the accountability of each employee to be aware of and respect the law, follow work instructions and workplace safety programs, use all required safeguards and personal protective equipment (PPE), participate fully in training, and inform a leader of any unsafe conditions in the workplace. Team Members must work in a manner that protects themselves and others. Working safely is a condition of employment. We believe workplace injuries and illnesses are preventable. Together we will ensure a safe and healthy workplace for the Village. <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> Grade R. Fin CAO Mayor tebruan 6, 2024 Felmory 6/2034 Date Date
