POLICY TITLE: CITIZEN RECOGNITION (BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES)

Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to set a standard for which Council, at the request of citizens,
recognize milestone birthdays and anniversaries for their constituents.
Policy
Events -
1. It shall be the policy of the Rural Community of Fundy Shores to issue Certificates of
Recognition to local residents for 25th Anniversaries and subsequent anniversaries
at 5 year intervals.
2. It shall be the policy of the Rural Community of Fundy Shores to issue Certificates of
Recognition to local residents for their 80th birthday and subsequent birthdays at
five year intervals.
3. It shall also be the policy of the Rural Community of Fundy Shores to issue
Certificate of Welcome to the Community to local residents who have had a birth or
adoption of a child.
4. When deemed appropriate the Mayor or Council Member may issue a Certificate of
Recognition outside the above mentioned conditions.
Requesting a Certificate -
1. All Certificates shall be requested 5 business days in advance of the event to allow
staff adequate time to prepare the materials.
2. All Certificates shall be presented by the Mayor or a member of the Fundy Shores
Council.
