l. OBJECTIF
La Municipalité régionale de Grand-Sault
s'engage à promouvoir la santé et le bien-
être de ses employés ainsi que du public en
général.
La présente politique a pour objectif
d'établir un cadre clair et uniforme
concernant l'interdiction de fumer et de
vapoter.
2. ÉTENDUE
La présente politique s'applique à
l'ensemble des bâtiments, structures,
terrains et véhicules appartenant à la
Municipalité régionale de Grand-Sault,
ainsi qu'à tous les employés municipaux et
membres du service d'incendie.

The Grand Falls Régional Municipality is
committed to promoting the health and
well-being ofits employées and the général
public.
This policy aims to establish a clear and
consistent guidelines regarding the
prohibition ofsmokmg and vaping.
2. SCOPE
This policy applies to all buildings,
stmchires, grounds, and vehicles owned by
the Grand Falls Régional Municipality, as
well as to all municipal employées and
members ofthe Fire Départaient.
3. RESPONSABILITÉ

directeur de service. Ceux-ci doivent

5. MODALITÉS DE LA POLITIQUE
a) II est strictement interdit de fumer ou
de vapoter à l'intérieur de tout
bâtiment, structure ou véhicule
municipal.
b) II est permis de fumer ou de vapoter
uniquement durant les pauses
autorisées prévues dans la convention
collective en vigueur, à moins d'une
autorisation contraire du directeur de
service.
e) II est interdit de fumer ou de vapoter
sur les lieux d'un incendie, d'un
accident ou de tout autre incident
nécessitant l'intervention du service
d'incendie ou de la force policière.
d) Conformément à la Loi sur les
endroits sans fumée du Nouveau-
Brunswick, il est interdit de fumer ou
de vapoter à moins de neuf (9) mètres
de toute porte, fenêtre ou prise d'air
d'un bâtiment municipal.

offre un soutien financier aux employés qui
souhaitent cesser de fumer ou de vapoter.

4.2 Vaping: The act ofinhaling or exhaling
vapour produced by an electronic cigarette
or any other vaping device, whether or not
it contains nicotine, cannabis, or any other
substance.
5. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(a) Smoking or vaping is strictly
prohibited inside any municipal
building, structure, or vehicle.
(b) Smoldng or vaping is permitted only
during breaks provided for in the
applicable collective agreement,
unless otherwise authorized by the
department head.
(e) Smoldng or vaping is prohibited at
the scène of a fire, accident, or any
other incident requiring the
intervention ofthe Pire Department or
police.
(d) In accordance withNew Bmnswick's
Smoke-Free Places Act, smoldng is
prohibited within nine (9) mètres of
any door, window, or air intake of a
municipal building.
6. EMPLOYEE SUPPORT PLAN
The Grand Falls Régional Municipality
provides financial support to employées
who wish to quit smoldng or vaping.

Un remboursement équivalant à 50 % des
coûts des produits prescrits pour l'abandon
du tabagisme ou du vapotage est offert,
jusqu'à concurrence de 100 $ par mois,
pour une période maximale de deux (2)
mois. Ce remboursement est accordé une
seule fois au cours de la carrière de
l'employé, pour un montant maximal total
de 200 $.
Les produits doivent être prescrits par un
médecin ou un professionnel de la santé
autorisé afin d'être admissibles au
remboursement.
A reimbursement équivalent to 50% ofthe
cost of prescribed products for smoking or
vaping cessation is offered, up to a
maximum of $100 per month, for a period
of up to two (2) months. This
reimbursement is granted once during the
employée's career, for a maximum total
amountof$200.
Products must be prescribed by a physician
or authorized health care professional in
order to be eligible for reimbursement.
7. INFRACTIONS
Tout employé prenant une pause non
autorisée pour fumer ou vapoter s'expose à
des mesures disciplinaires, conformément à
la convention collective en vigueur ou aux
conditions de travail applicables.
8. ABROGATION
L'adoption de la présente politique abroge
et remplace la politique 2004-06 (R2)
intitulée « Interdiction de fumer » de
l'ancienne Ville de Grand-Sault.
7. VIOLATIONS
Any employée who takes an unauthorized
break to smoke or vape may be subject to
disciplinary action, in accordance with the
applicable collective agreement or working
conditions.
8.REPEAL
The adoption of this policy repeals and
replaces Policy 2004-06 (R2), titled
"Smoldng Ban", previously in effect in the
former Town of Grand Falls.
9. ENTRÉE EN VIGUEUR
