<!-- image --> Policy # 2022-02 ## Public Suggestions Policy ## Policy Objective: To provide a means for residents within the rural community of Hanwell to supply suggestions to Council for requests for infrastructure, recreation, or local projects. ## Policy Statement: As demographics may change over time, and growth in the community may alter the direction of council, the rural community of Hanwell Council has an obligation to listen to the public regarding suggestions of what programs or infrastructure the public would like to have available for their use. Suggestions sent to the clerk, the mayor, or individual councillors by physical mail, electronic mail, or during an in-person presentation during a council meeting may be advanced to a future administrative session for further discussion. There should be no expectation by members of the public to have any immediate response to suggestions or questions, as requests may require lengthy discussion, or take time to investigate. Any ideas submitted by the public may, after discussion and at the discretion of council, by included in a future public survey, to gauge if an idea may have limited or widespread interest within the community. Comments and discussions made via social media will not be considered an official request or suggestion to council. <!-- image --> Original Date of Adoption by Council: Janary 11, 2022 <!-- image --> Date of Revision Approved by Council: Date of Revision Approved by Council: Clerk's signature Jerri L.
