## SECTION I
## TOWN OF HARTLAND
## BY-LAW

## NUISANCES AND CIVIL ORDER
A By-Law to prevent Nuisances and Regulate Civil Order.
BE IT ORDAINED : By the Town Council of the Town of Hartland in this By-Law the word -
- (a) "Person" includes body corporate
- "'Town"
- shall mean the Town' of Hartland
- "Mayor" shall mean the Mayor of the Town of Hartland

## SOLICITING
- (a) Except as provided herein, no person shall go from door to
- door within the Town soliciting charity.
- (b) No person shall request a pedestrian on a streét within the
- Town for help or aid or money.
- (c) No person shall accost any other person passing along a steet in the Town with the object of canvassing or inducin uch person to purchase goods or merchandise, except news papers, nor for the purpose of inducing such person to give
- or subscribe money for any purpose.
- (d) Notwithstanding anything contained in this By-Law, a persor may solicit money for charitable or religious purposes if they have obtained a permit from the Mayor authorizing such
- solicitation.
## SECTION II
## CIVIL ORDER
- (a) No person shall loiter on any street or near the entrance to any church, hall, public building or place of public
- resort within the Town.
- (b) No person shall stand in a group or crowd on any street
- after having been requested by a police officer to dis-
- perse or move along such street.
- (c) No person shall run in a reckless manner on any street or
- in any way obstruct public travel thereon.
- (d) No person shall spit, urinate, or defecate on any street within Town.
- (e) No person shall place litter, garbage or waste material of any kind on any street within the Town.
## SECTION III
## ANNOYANCES
- (a) No person shall either directly or indirectly demand or invoke the official services of any policeman or any other officer of the Town where no reasonable cause exists for so doing.
- (b) No person shall pull down, deface, mutilate, or cover over any public notice lawfully posted within one week after the posting thereof, without the consent of the
- person causing the same to be posted.
- (C) No person shall knock on a door or ring a door bell of a
- residence within the Town for the purpose of annoying any person in such residence.
- (d) No person shall throw a stone, snowball, or other missile on or into any street, or at any building.
- (e) No person shall coast or slide on a sled, toboggan, wagon,
- skateboard, or other device on any street in the Town.
- (I) No person shall skate or play any game of ball, hockey, or any other game on any street in the Town.
- (g) No person shall unnecessarily shout, sound a horn or make any noise or create a disturbance or sing any boisterous or indecent song within the Town.
- (h) No person shall drive an automobile or other motor vehicle on any of the public streets of the said Town in such manner as to cause any unnecessary noise to be emitted by the contact of the tires of such automobile or other motor vehicle with the pavement or surface of the streets of the said Town. Any unnecessary noise in this section included any screeching , shrieking or screaming of tires, whether putting an automobile or other motor vehicle into motion, turning corners or otherwise maintaining the said automobile or other motor vehicle in motion
## PENALTY
Every person who fails to comply with any provision of this By-law shall be guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less than Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) and not more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) and in default of payment thereof to imprisonment for a term not less two (2) days or more than five (5) days.
This By-Law shall come into force on the date of final passing thereof.
