Municipality of Lakeland Ridges Policy P-003 Emergency Response Fee Policy STATEMENT: This policy is put in place to allow the Fire Department to recoup cost when responding to non-fire related calls. SERVICE PROVIDED DESCRIPTION EQUIPMENT FEE Highway Accident When a Fire Department responds to an accident on the Highway. Fire Truck(s), Rescue Van, Jaws of Life Flat rate of $450 per hour/per equipment. $30 per hour/per fire fighter Plus, the reimbursable cost for supplies & materials utilized. Motor Vehicle Collision on Regional or Municipal roads When a Fire Department responds to a motor vehicle collision on roads within Lakeland Ridges. Fees only apply to non-residents. Fire Truck(s), Rescue Van, Jaws of Life Flat rate of $450 per hour/per equipment. $30 per hour/per fire fighter Plus, the reimbursable cost for supplies & materials utilized. Hydro Incidents When a Fire Department responds to a hydro incident (down wires) and if standby is required for an extended period of time (at the discretion of the Fire Chief or designate) to keep the scene safe then NB Power will be charged the set fees. Fire Truck(s), Rescue Van, Flat rate of $450 per hour/per equipment. $30 per hour/per fire fighter Plus, the reimbursable cost for supplies & materials utilized. LEVY OF FEES: The Fire Chief and/or the CAO will be the sole authority to levy these fees subject to amendment by the council. Response frequency and chargeable hours will be at the sole discretion of the Fire Chief and/or the CAO. Chargeable hours will be taken from the time the apparatus and/or personal leave the Fire Hall until the return to the Fire Hall. Response means the apparatus and personal have left the Fire Hall and are in route to the location of the alarm/accident/incident whether assistance we rendered or not.
