<!-- image --> ## BY-LAW NO. S-5 ## A BY-LAW TO PREVENT NOISE AND NUISANCES BE IT ENACTED by the Council of the Village of Stanley as follows: ## 1. Noise - 1.01 No person shall make, or permit to be made, any noise within the Village of Stanley likely to cause a public disturbance or otherwise disturb the inhabitants of the Village of Stanley. - 1.02 Without restricting the generality of subsection 1.01, a noise likely to cause public disturbance or otherwise disturb the inhabitants of the Village of Stanley, shall be deemed to be any noise or sounds of such volume or of such nature as to cause annoyance to residents of the Village including shouting, singing, whistling, music, motor vehicles (including motorcycles and motor bikes), snowmobiles, pneumatic hammers, construction equipment and machinery, and animal noises. - 1.03 This by-law shall not apply to: - pneumatic hammers, construction equipment and machinery, or vehicles of business and trade between six o'clock in the forenoon and eleven o'clock in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday, inclusive; - b) agents, contractors, servants or employees of the Village of Stanley while engaged in the execution of their duties; - c) snow removal equipment; - d) emergency vehicle or other emergency equipment; - any person, association, organization, corporation, or event that has obtained an approval authorized by Council so long as that person or party is acting within the terms of such approval. - 1.04 No person shall wantonly, wilfully or unlawfully disturb the good order or harmony of any religious service or public meeting, or of any public gathering or assemblage of persons for amusement or recreation, law fully held within the Village. <!-- image --> - 1.05. No person shall, in the Village, operate or cause, or permit to be operated, any public address system, gramophone, radio or other device or apparatus for reproducing or amplifying sound, the sounds of which are capable of being heard on any street in the Village or in any adjacent dwelling-house. ## ril Nuisances - 2.01 No person shall accost or interrupt any person passing along any of the streets or sidewalks of the Village with the object of canvassing for money or inducing such passerby to purchase goods or merchandise. - 2.02 No person shall throw a stone, or other missile on or into any street, or at any building: - 2.03 No person shall skate, or play any game of ball, hockey or other game on any street in the Village. - 2.04 No person shall, without the consent of the owner thereof, or legal authority therefore deface or remove any signboard or name sign used to denote an office, calling or employment, or other witen or printed notice lawfully afixed or posted within the - 2.05 No person shall break, deface or injure any streetlight, pole or fixture, or extinguish any streetlight, or in any way injure any public property within and belonging to the Village. - 2.06 No person shall wantonly, maliciously or without proper authority, deface, destroy or remove any gate, fence or other protection enclosing or fronting on any house, lot or other premises; or remove or extinguish a signal light or guard, placed near or over any obstruction or excavation, public or private within the Village. ## mil Penalty Provision A person who violates any provision of this by-law is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) and not more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). ## 4.
