## Village of Tracy By-Law No. 32-2021 A By-Law to Amend the Village of Tracy Rural Plan, By-law No. 29 Pursuant to section 59 of the Community Planning Act, the Council of the Village of Tracy enacts the following amendments to the Village of Tracy Rural Plan By-law No.29: - The following additions are made to the Table of Contents: 2. The following definitions are added to section 12 of Part C: 3. The following subsections are added to section 14 of Part C: 14.22 Backyard Chickens "Backyard Chickens" means a secondary use of a residential property to house up to 10 hens and does not include roosters. ## 14.22.0 Backyard Chickens - 14.22.1 Where permitted, the holding of up to ten hens shall comply with the following: - (a) the lot has an area of at least 4,000 square metres (1 acre); - (b) a roofed enclosure consisting of a chicken coop connected to a chicken run is required and shall be enclosed by wired fencing and impermeable to predators; - (c) the enclosure shall be located in the rear yard and shall be visually screened from a public street and neighbouring properties; - (d) the enclosure shall be located 3 metres from any side or rear lot lines and 7.5 metres from any existing dwelling; - (e) any manure or waste material shall be removed from the site, or composted, on a regular basis; and - (f) the hens are fully enclosed at all times and do not have free range. - The following subsection is added to section 15 of Part C: 15.1.1 (b) (iv) backyard chickens, subject to 14.22.0; and This By-Law shall come into effect and be binding on all persons as of and from the date filed at the Registry Office.
