Box 190, Hopedale, NL AOP 1GO Telephone: (709) 933-3864 - Fax: (709) 933-3800 ## Email: [email protected] ## PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY  Pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 247 and Section 448 of the Municipalities Act, the Hopedale Inuit Community Government has made the following regulations:   The Hopedale Inuit Community Government Recreational Vehicles (Snowmobile and Motor Vehicle) Regulations 2011 (b) "Council" means the Hopedale Inuit Community Government Council of the Town of (a) "Act" means the Municipalities Act and any amendments to it 1. Interpretations: In these regulations unless the context otherwise require: Hopedale as determined under the Municipalities Act May, 1969 or any amendments thereto, and/or continued under Chapter M-23, 1990, and (c) "Town" means the Town of Hopedale as defined by order in Council dated the 12" day of contained under the Municipalities Act and ice (d) "Snowmobile" means a motorized vehicle designated and constructed for travel over snow cars and trucks (e) "Sled" means any snow sled, komatik or snow toy designed and made for a child (f) "Motor Vehicle" means all terrain vehicles, motor cycles and automobiles which includes (g) "Skis" means any cross country or downhill skis vehicle, then the mortgagor if he is entitled to possession of the vehicle (i) The person who holds the legal title to the vehicle, except in the case of a mortgaged (h) "Owner" means (i) In the case of a registered vehicle, the person in whose name it is so registered agreement, the person in possession of the vehicle under the agreement (il) In the case of a vehicle which is subject to a rental agreement or purchase purchaser under the contract except in the case where the holder of the conditional (iv)in the case of a vehicle which is subject to a conditional sales contract, the buyer or sales contract is entitled to possession of the vehicle. ## Recreational Vehicles Regulations, October 5t*, 2011 2. No snowmobile or motor vehicle shall be operated in the community unless its lights are on and working properly. on its engine that operates properly. 3. Violations of this regulation are subject to the general penalty as per section 448 of the Municipalities Act which reads: posted by Council - (b) tears down, removes or damages a regulation, order or notice is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction, where a penalty is not otherwise provided, to a fine not less than $50.00 and not exceeding $1,000.00 or in default of payment to a period of imprisonment not exceeding 90 days, or to both a fine  ## and a period of imprisonment. 10. These regulations were adopted and passed by Council by resolution # 11-154 on the 5" day of October, 2011, and replaces all pervious "Town Council of Hopedale Recreational Vehicle (Snowmobile and Motor Vehicle) regulations." 11. These regulations may be cited as the "Hopedale Inuit Community Government Recreational Vehicle (Snowmobile and Motor Vehicle) Regulations 2011" and shall become effective on the 5 day of October, 2011.
