## Beautification By-Law
Pursuant to the authority conferred by the Towns and Local Service Districts Act, the Town of Long HarbourMount Arlington Heights has made the following Beautification By-Law.
This By-Law shall be known and cited as the Town of Long Harbour-Mount Arlington Heights Beautification By-Law and was adopted on the 21 day of August, 2025 under Motion No. 08-21-25-14

## In this By-Law;
- (a) Town means the Town Council of Long Harbour-Mount Arlington Heights.
- (b) Residents means permanent residents, renters, property owners.
- (c) Businesses means any commercial establishment within the Town's boundaries.
In an effort to have the Town of Long Harbour-Mount Arlington Heights clean for tourist and local residents alike, especially during the summer months, the Town will carry out various duties to beautify the community. The Town will encourage businesses and residents to do their part in tidying, cleaning, and restoring private, commercial, and public properties.
1. The Town will offer, through Eastern Waste Management, at least two bulk garbage collections per year.
2. The Town will advertise the bulk garbage collection dates in advance to allow residents to take advantage of the opportunity to remove large garbage items from their properties.
3. The Town will encourage residents and businesses each year, to make an extra special effort to clean up around their properties, including the areas fronting their properties.
4. The Town will designate the month of May as "Clean Up Month" and will organize a roadside and beach cleanup as well as a cleanup of all public spaces.
5. Businesses and residents are asked to adopt a street, or a site, such as playground, ballfield, sawmill site, lookout site, dock, and ensure that it is kept clean and tidy all year around.
## Beautification Policy
6. Residents and businesses will be encouraged to remove or repair structures such as fences and sheds and keep all permanent structures in good repair.
7. Residents/businesses shall remove car wrecks from their property and/or the roadside.
8. Residents/businesses will be asked to groom properties and plant flowers in an effort to make our community the cleanest and most appealing in the province.
9. The Town Council of Long Harbour-Mount Arlington Heights will enforce their Anti Littering Regulations.
10. After three attempts to encourage cleanup of residential/commercial properties, the Town shall take advantage of their authority under the Towns and Local Service Districts Act, to ensure cleanup is carried out.
