## TOWN OF MOUNT MORIAH SNOW CLEARING REGULATIONS ## PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY Pursuant to the power delegated by the Minister of Transportation and Works under Section 18 or it ratione ad are the in rory concerned by hereby enacts the following Regulations which were adopted at a Public Council Meeting \_ 2021. <!-- image --> Lise Duffrey Hunt MAYOR - These regulations may be cited as the Town of Mount Moriah Snow Clearing Regulations, 2021. - Interpretations. In these regulations unless the context otherwise requires: - (a) "Town" means the Municipality of Mount Moriah, incorporated the 12 day of October A. D. 1971. - (b) "Council" means the Town Council of the Town of Mount Moriah. - (c) "Vehicle" means a device in, upon, or by which a person or property may be transported or drawn upon the highway. - (d) "Park" means to permit a vehicle whether occupied or not, to stand otherwise, then temporarily for the immediate purpose of, and while actively engaged in loading or unloading goods or taking up or setting down passengers or in obedience to traffic regulations or traffic signs. - (e) "Street Reservation" means the land reserved for a public road, street, lane, sidewalk, or other public way. - During the period from the 1s of November in each year to the 15 day of April in the succeeding year, both days inclusive no person shall park an unattended vehicle in such a manner so as to obstruct snow clearing, between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. - (a) at any time during a snow storm and for twelve hours thereafter, no person shall park an unattended vehicle on any street within the Town. - Any unattended vehicle parked on any street within the Town in contravention of these regulations may be removed and impounded by the council and the cost - of impounding and removal will be the owners responsibility. - (a) Any person who has a vehicle impounded under the provisions of this regulation shall be liable for, in addition to incurred costs an impounding tee and shall pay a storage tee. - (b) Council shall not accept responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle as a result of removal or impounding. - During the period from the 1s day of November in each year to the 15'h day of April in the succeeding year, both days inclusive, no person shall park an unattended vehicle on either side of all Town byroads. 6. No person shall remove sand or salt from any municipal road or municipal storage area. - No person shall shovel or plough snow from a driveway or parking lot onto any street or street reservation within the Town. Any person who violates this particular regulation will be subject to a penalty imposed by the Town of $100.00 and in addition to this penalty the person will be charged a fee representing the amount paid by the Town to have the excess snow removed. 8. The Town of Mount Moriah will not be responsibility for providing snow clearing services on privately owned driveways/roads. 8. No person shall place snow in front of or over a fire hydrant within the Town. 9. Any person who violates any of the provisions of these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a penalty imposed by the Town of $100.00. 9. Prosecution under these regulations may be taken summarily by Council, any Council Employee, specified authorized by the Council and by the R.C.M.P. officer or police constable. 11.
