Town of New-Wes-Valley

Pursuant to the authority confirmed by Section 414 (1) (a) of the Municipalities Act,
Chapter M-24, S.N. 1999 and subsequent amendments, the Town of
New-Wes-Valley has made the following regulations by resolution of Council dated
this day of , 2001.

Regulations
1.
These regulations may be cited as the Town of New-Wes-Valley Private Sewage Disposal
Regulations.
2.
Interpretation In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires:
a.
AAct@ means the Municipalities Act;
b.
ACouncil@ means the Town of New-Wes-Valley;
c.
APrivate Sewage Disposal System@ means privy, septic tank with an absorption
field or other privately owned plant or any other equipment, means or methods of or
for the treatment and disposal of sewage;
d.
AMunicipality/Town@ means the Town of New-Wes-Valley;
3.
Pursuant to Section 195 of the Act, a person shall not within the town:
a.
Construct a private sewage disposal system except in accordance with a written
permit from the council.
4.
Every private sewage disposal system shall:
a.
Be constructed, located and maintained in a manner which is acceptable to the
Department of Government Service and Lands where the capacity is up to 4500
liters per day; or
b.
Be constructed, located and maintained in a manner which is acceptable to the
Department of Government Service and Lands where the capacity is in excess of
4500 liters per day.
5.
Pursuant to Section 420 of the Act, a person who contravenes or fails to comply with these
regulations, is guilty of an offense and liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less
than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or
in default of payment to a period of imprisonment not exceeding thirty (30) days or to both
a fine and period of imprisonment.

These Regulations were adopted by Council at a meeting held on the day of
, 2001.
7.
All previously adopted private sewage regulations for the Town of New-Wes-Valley this
day of , 2001 are hereby rescinded.
