VACANT LAND - WATER or WATER/SEWER FEE EXEMPTION
BY-LAW
Effective February 18, 2025
Resolution # 2025 - 01
In contrast to section 131 of the Towns and Local Service District Act, the
Town of Pilley's Island hereby enacts the following:
Owners of vacant land within the boundaries of the Town of Pilley's Island will
not be deemed to receive services from the town's water and sewer mains
unless their property is physically connected by lateral lines to the town's
water and/or water & sewer system.
Therefore, the Town of Pilley's Island hereby exempts properties identified by
the Municipal Assessment Agency of Newfoundland and Labrador as "vacant
land" from being charged water and/or water & sewer services unless
connected under the conditions described above.
