## LIVESTOCK BY-LAW
The following regulations have been made by the Town of Salmon Cove under the provisions of the Towns and Local Districts Act effective January 1, 2025.
## Purpose:
By-Law of the Town of Salmon Cove for direction of senior staff and council regarding livestock.
## Authority:
As per motion on the 18th day of February, in the year 2025.
## Motion 025-069
Motion to accept the By-Law for Livestock.
## 1. Interpretations: In these regulations unless the context otherwise requires:
- (a) "TLSDA" shall mean Towns and Local Service Districts Act Jan. 1, 2025
- (b) "Council" shall mean the Town Council of the Town of Salmon Cove
- (c) "Town" shall mean the Town of Salmon Cove
- (d) "Person" any person, firm, partnership association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
- (e) "Town Clerk" shall mean the Town Clerk of Salmon Cove
- (f) "Livestock" means any domestic animal including fowl but shall not be held to include cats or dogs.
2. No person shall keep on any property within the Town, owned him/her, or rented or otherwise under his/her control, any livestock or any description, without the written permission of the Council.
3. When livestock has been brought into the Town in violation of these regulations, the Council may order the owner to remove the said livestock.
4. Prosecution under these regulations may be taken summarily by any Police Officer or any employee appointed by the Council.
5. Any person who violates any of the provisions of these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on a summary conviction of a fine not exceeding $100.
## Effective Date:
This By-Law shall come into effect on the 18'h day of February 2025.
