From my childhood spent playing on our beaches, streets, and shipyard, to serving as Councillor, Deputy Mayor, and now Mayor, it has been both humbling and meaningful. I extend my sincere thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in me. While accepting this role was an easy decision, I fully recognize that fulfilling its responsibilities requires dedication, commitment, and hard work--and I am prepared to give 100% in serving Trinity and its people. By working together as a council and as a community, with open minds and a shared commitment to putting Trinity first, our town has a bright future ahead. Through strong relationships and by drawing on the strengths of all who call this place home, Trinity can continue to grow and prosper. Seeing cruise ships in our harbour again is a visible sign of progress and the new opportunities emerging for our town. Trinity is well known as a beautiful tourist destination with breathtaking scenery, from historic buildings and stunning ocean views. But it is so much more than that. It is a place where children grow up with a freedom like no other, where nature is at your doorstep, waiting to be explored endlessly by land or sea. I have always said I grew up in the best place in the world--and I truly believe it is a wonderful place to raise a family. Whether you are visiting for the day or choosing to make Trinity your home, there is something here for everyone. I encourage you to explore this website to discover all that our town has to offer. The only thing Trinity is missing... is you ! Residents may attend and observe council proceedings but cannot take part in discussion. **Special Meetings of Council** From time to time, Council may meet for a specific purpose or matter that cannot wait until the next scheduled Regular Meeting. The procedure for calling a Special Meeting is outlined in the Rules of Procedure, and the required notice period may differ from that of a Regular Meeting. **Council in Committee Meetings** Council in Committee meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. These meetings allow Council to review matters of town business in greater detail before they come to a Regular Meeting for decision. No formal votes are taken, but discussions guide Council in preparing recommendations and resolutions. Council in Committee meetings are open to the public to attend and observe, except when matters must be dealt with in a closed session (in camera) as required by law or policy. **Privileged Meetings of Council** At times, Council must hold discussions behind closed doors to protect individual citizens' right to privacy, maintain the integrity of confidential negotiations, or for other reasons required by law or policy. These matters are dealt with in Privileged Meetings of Council. **Public Participation at Council Meetings** Members of the public who wish to address Council must submit their request in writing to the Town Clerk/Manager no later than three (3) working days before the scheduled council meeting. The written request should outline the subject matter to be discussed. If approved, the delegate(s) will be added to the meeting agenda and provided a set time to present, not exceeding 5-10 minutes.
