WABUSH Cemetery Bylaw The Town of Wabush has adopted the following bylaw governing the use and care of the local cemetery. This bylaw has been developed to ensure cleanliness and the respect that should be afforded to those who have been laid to rest in this area. - All graves in the finished stages, including lawn seed or soda, with the exception of monuments, must be level with the surrounding area, creating a lawn-type cemetery. - Flowers or wreaths may be placed on graves. Graves will be cleared in the fall of the year. Items of value, such as glass ornamental containers, flower vases, etc. (other than those permanently mounted on headstones) should be removed by October 1'1 each year. - The Town will not be responsible for damage to headstones or markers caused by vandalism or other factors beyond its control. - Any structure that has been previously installed will remain, but if these become damaged or unsightly, they will be removed to maintain the appearance of the area. - Effective immediately, to aid in the maintenance of the cemetery, no enclosures will be permitted around the gravesites or plots, i.e. no concrete, wood, or wire enclosures will be permitted. - No items are to be placed on the fence enclosing the cemetery. All items that are found to be placed in this area will be removed. - Persons found damaging cemetery property are liable to prosecution. - Dogs are NOT permitted within the cemetery. Cooperation of all concerned will be necessary if the cemetery is to remain a place of respect. Ron Barron, Mayor cCJmM Q'3r Witness Charlie Perry, CAO/Town Manager
