Under the authority of section 16, section 17 and section 18 of the Urban and Rural
Planning Act 2000, the Town Council of West St. Modeste

gave notice of the adoption of the West St. Modeste Municipal Plan
Amendment No. 7, 2004 by advertisement inserted on the 6th day and the
13th day of September, 2004 in the Northern Pen newspaper.
set the 20th day of September at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, West St.
Modeste for the holding of a public hearing to consider objections and
submissions.
Now under section 23 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act 2000, the Town Council
of Clarenville approves the West St. Modeste Municipal Plan Amendment No. 7, 2004.

BACKGROUND
This amendment is designed to accommodate serviced residential development off Garden
Road in an area that is serviced and also for which approval ha$ been granted by the
Provincial Government. Furthermore, Plan of Land Use Map 2 shows a proposed road
extending in a north-easterly direction from Garden Road.
PUBLIC CONSULTATION
A notice of the proposed changes was advertised in the Northern Pen on July 26th and
August 2nd 2004, with the deadline for written expressions of interest being noon, August
3, 2004. No representations were received.
MUNICIPAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 7
Municipal Plan Land Use Map No. 2 is amended as shown on the attached plan.
