CLASSIFICATION: General Government - Administration ___________________________________________________________________ Administrative Policy # 1999-04 Fire & Emergency Services Page 1 of 2 Administrative Policy # 1999-04 Fire & Emergency Services Policy Policy Statement It is the policy of the Town of Digby to establish a registration system for those who provide fire and other emergency services to the Town of Digby as required under the Municipal Government Act. 1.0 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 1.1 The objectives of this policy are to establish a registration system for those that provide fire and other emergency services to the Town of Digby 1.2 To ensure that those providing fire and other emergency services are capable of providing the services it offers to provide. 2.0 CRITERIA: 2.1 The Applicant must have the basic firefighting/emergency services equipment and an established track record of providing the service 3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES: 3.1 The Council (or its designated committee) will: a. review, amend, and adopt changes in the Town's Fire & Emergency Services Policy Where there is any conflict between the policies adopted by the Town of Digby and the policies set forth in the appropriate collective agreement, or policies set forth in a statute of the provincial or federal government, collective agreements or the provincial or federal statute shall supersede such other policies. 3.2 The Town Clerk (or designate) will: a. ensure the implementation of the Fire & Emergency Services Policy b. recommend changes to the Fire & Emergency Services Policy where considered appropriate c. consider Councillor's suggestions submitted under the program d. monitor the effectiveness of the Fire & Emergency Services Policy CLASSIFICATION: General Government - Administration ___________________________________________________________________ Administrative Policy # 1999-04 Fire & Emergency Services Page 2 of 2 4.0 OTHER  This policy shall be reviewed no later than five (5) years from the date of adoption.
