## Deputy Warden Terms of Office Policy Section 16(1) of the Municipal Government Act requires the selection of a deputy warden of the Municipality be chosen by the council members from among themselves. ## 1. Purpose Section 16 (2) of the Municipal Government Act requires that prior to the selection of a deputy mayor or deputy warden, the council shall determine the term of office of the deputy mayor or deputy warden. ## 2. Term of Office - i. The term of office for Deputy Warden of the Municipality of the County of Inverness shall be two years. - ii. The Deputy Warden shall be appointed by a majority vote of the elected Council at the first regular Council meeting following a regular election of Council or at the first meeting of Council in November, if no election of Council has occurred, after the two-year term of Deputy Warden has expired. - ili.
