MUNICIPALITY OF THE COUNTY OF INVERNESS COUNCIL POLICY INSTALLATION OF SEWER LATERALS LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITY: Municipal Government Act Section 328(1)(2) SEWER LATERALS - INSTALLATION Preamble: This policy shall apply to the ratepayers of the Municipality of the County of Inverness who are located within the boundaries of communities served by central sewer and water services. Policy: It shall be the policy of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of the County of Inverness that sewer and water laterals will only be installed from the main to the property line and it shall be the responsibility of the property owner to install services from the property line to the building which is to be served. If a sewerage blockage occurs and it is on the property owners side of the service line, the property owner may be charged for the cost associated with clearing the line. This is to certify that the above policy was approved by Municipal Council of the Municipality of the County of Inverness on the 5th day May A.D., 2008.
