FULL TAX EXEMPTION BY-LAW
Effective September 25, 2001
This By-law is made by the Municipal Council of the Municipality of the District of
Lunenburg pursuant to Section 71(1)(b) of the Municipal Government Act (1998).
Resolved by the Municipal Council of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg that
the following be and the same is hereby enacted.
1.
TITLE This By-law shall be known and may be cited as the Full Tax
Exemption By-law of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.
2.
EXEMPTION The following organizations shall be exempt from taxation
(attached as Schedule A) as per Policy.
Upon Municipal Council's approval of full tax exemption for a qualifying non-profit
organization, that property will be added to Schedule A. Upon Municipal Council's decision
to remove an organization from full exemption, that property will be deleted from Schedule A.
For this By-law, "organizations" is defined as a non-profit community, charitable,
fraternal, educational, recreational, religious, cultural or sporting organization that, in the
opinion of the Council, provides a service that might otherwise be a responsibility of the
Council.
