Lunenburg town council has passed the three per cent levy on short term accommodations. The bylaw will be in place beginning January 1st, 2027 on accommodations including hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts and short term rentals listed on platforms like Airbnb. The levy will be paid by visitors at the time of booking and will be used by the town to support tourism marketing.
