Town of Mulgrave Tree Inspection & Removal Policy Title: 1. This Policy is entitled the "Tree Inspection and Removal Policy". Purpose: 2. To provide direction to employees of the Town respecting the inspection and treatment of trees and the issuing of orders for removal of trees or limbs as authorized by the Municipal Government Act. Interpretation 3. The Town hereby authorizes employees of the Town, under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, to enter upon land within the Town of Mulgrave to: a) treat the trees on the land as approved and recommended by Forestry Canada; b) inspect the trees to determine whether they are in a diseased condition or damaged to the extent that they constitute a hazard to the safety of persons or property. 4. The Town hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to issue an Order to an owner of land, within 30 days of service of a copy of the Order, to remove a tree or limb that is, in the opinion of the Chief Administrative Officer, hazardous to persons or property or so affected by disease or insect infestation as to endanger the life and health of trees in the vicinity. 5. All former policies with respect to Tree Inspection and Removal are hereby repealed and this policy substituted therefore.
