MUNICIPALITY OF THE COUNTY OF PICTOU DEED TRANSFER TAX BY-LAW 1. This By-Law is entitled the "Deed Transfer Tax By-Law". 2. Effective September 1, 2009 a deed transfer tax applies in the Municipality of the County of Pictou. 3. The rate of the deed transfer tax in the Municipality of the County of Pictou is one percent (1%) of the value of the property transferred. 4. Sections 102 to 110 of the Municipal Government Act apply to the Municipality of the County of Pictou. 5. The Registrar of Deeds shall be the agent and collector of the deed transfer tax for the Municipality of the County of Pictou in accordance with the agreement to that effect between the Municipality and the Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations. THIS IS TO CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true copy of a by-law duly adopted by the Municipal Council for the Municipality of the County of Pictou at a duly called meeting of the Council held on the 6th day of July, 2009.
