Policy Subject / Title - Lease of Personal Property

GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY
22.01 It is the policy of the Region of Queens Municipality to authorize the Chief
Administrative Officer to lease personal property, no longer deemed necessary
for use by the Region, should disposal not be deemed in the best interest of the
Region, under the following guidelines.
22.02 The term of the lease shall be no longer than one year.
22.03 Personal property shall only be leased to non-commercial organizations, unless
specific approval is received from Council.
22.04 The rental fee charges shall be nominal ($1.00) or such fee deemed to be in the
best interest of the Region.
22.05 Leases shall provide for the safekeeping of the personal property.
22.06 Any lease may be cancelled upon thirty (30) days notice by either party.
22.07 The Chief Administrative Officer shall have the right to impose further terms and
conditions respecting any lease.
22.08 Members of Council shall be notified of all leases within five (5) working days of
the execution of the lease.
