Region of Queens Municipality Operational Policy No. 1 - Introduction ______________________________________________________________________________ GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY 1.01 It shall be the policy of the Region of Queens Municipality to provide a policy manual for staff and elected officials to clearly define what the policies of the Region are, with a goal of ensuring efficient and effective local government with the development of municipal policies. POLICY INFORMATION 1.02 This policy manual shall cover many areas over which the Region of Queens Municipality has jurisdiction, except for those policies covered under the Region's Personnel Policy Manual. 1.03 It must be understood that these policies are only a portion of the regulations and agreements within which the regional government operates. Both staff and elected officials should be familiar with these policies, as well as municipal, provincial and federal bylaws and statutes. 1.04 Where there exists a conflict between the policies of the Region of Queens Municipality and any bylaw of the Region of Queens Municipality, or statute of the provincial government or federal government, the bylaws and statutes of the Region, province or federal government shall take precedence.
