First-All properties lying ~n either :si~e of the
&~reet, lane, court or thoroughfare through whIch. a new '
sewer is to pass ~Dd opposite to the sewer.
Second-All properties situated at or near the upper
end or termination of such proposed sewer shall pay the
Rame rate·as if the sewer were to pass in front of such
properties for their entire length, provided that in no "
ca8e shall any such property be assessed for & 'greater '
length of frontage than .sixt;r feet beyond ,the termin
ation of the sewer~ measured along the side line of the
street from a point directJ;r opposite to the end of the
se,ver.
Third-Any corner property where a sewer changes
direction from one street to 'another~ 0t 'where it is to
be constructed in each street shall be entitled ,to a de
c1uetion of one-half of the entire frontage ~n both streets.
Provided~ however, the length of the Jot does not exceed
one hundred feet o,"er that distance, regular sewerage
rates will be cha.rged.
Fourth.-AJry p~opez:ty where the sewer is 18 ~d on'
the' side of a lot, the owner shall be entit1~d to a reduc
tion of one-quarter tbe sljid fronta~e, an~ if any time the
sewer shall be extended,'{lond pass In front of the afore
said lot, the owner shall be e14titled to pay only such
amount as will eqnuJ. tliat as provided for in Section 3.
Fifth-Any other property not otherwisp chargeable
under the provisions of these By-Laws, but which in the
opinion of the Town Co~nci] will be benefitted. by any
new sewer, will require t.o pay "the Town the sum of
Twenty Dollars.

Sixth-If a corner lot is un' irregular or tria,ngular'

portions of the same unfit for building purposeR, such

All Sewerage Rates which have been Rssess'ed

or which are now assessable or liable to be assessed un
der these By-Laws, and which remain unpaid at 'the
passing thereof, shall be considered as having fallen due
on the 30th day of September in the year in which -the
sewer was constructed in front of the property: or ~ lot
assessed therefor.

15.
All permits to connect.with the sewers shall be
given upon the express conditions that the Committee
on Sewers may at any time before the work is complet
ed, revoke and annual the same, and no party interest.

The licensed plumber who connects any private

water service, and no .license shall be granted' to any

license he shall pay unto the Treas~rerof the Town: of '
Stellarton the sum of one dollar per annum; but· not- ,
,vithstanding anything contained in this' paragraph, ·if
the Committee of Sewers consider it advisable, they may'
grant licenses to cpmpetent plumbers residing out of
the town, on an !lnnuallicense fee of five dollars being

PLANS Al'ot"D INSPECTIONS.

Before proceeding to construct any portion of
the drainage system or plumbing of any house or build- .
jfl~ e~cept necessary repairs, th~ owner,o: ~gent shall
tile wIth the Town Clerk a plan or descrIptIOn of the
work proposed, showing the whole drainage sYE>tem from
it:, connection with the public street sewer to its ter
minus aboye the roof; and the Bum of fifty cents shall be
Judd upon the filing .of such plan or description, for the
examination of said plans and the inspection of such
premises to defray the expenses thereof.

Blanks for such plans will be furnished by the
Town Clerk and no Town work shall be commenced un
til such plans, signed by 8 licenElod plumher and the
owner or agent, shall have been approved by the En
g'ineer or an~T Inspector of Plumbing appointed b~r the
Council, and a permit granted for proceeding "rith the
plumbing.
4.
EvelT plan shall show the position. size, kind
lind weight of all pipes and the position of all traps,
closets and other fixtures.

Such plans shall be inspected by the Engineer ..
or Inspector of Plumbing and approved of by, him.
If
be finds that they do not confornl to the rules and re
gulations for plumbing and draining, no permit will be
granted for such plumbing.
