1. Truro's Victoria Park is a place where, for generations, people have connected to nature and culture. The Park has significance as a place of recreation, respite and connection for both new and returning visitors, and to local communities with deep historical connections. Victoria Park is situated in unceded traditional Mi'kmaw territory, also known as Mi'kma'ki, 2. This policy was developed to support the use of Victoria Park. Ensuring all users are: a. Respecting and Protecting - actively protecting a treasured and changing landscape; b. Sharing Stewardship - we are collectively participating in the principle of sustainability through responsibility. c. Developing Connections - We are connecting people with the place. d. Cooperating and Collaborating - we cooperate and collaborate, achieving results through co-creation. 3. To meet the objectives of this policy: a. The Town reserves the right to prohibit any user groups from using parts of the Property if, in the Town's opinion, the Property is not suitable. b. All User Groups will enter a usage agreement with the Town of Truro and will adhere to all policies of the Town of Truro including, but not limited to: i. User Groups will work with Victoria Park staff to ensure zero interference with maintenance operations. ii. User Groups agree to remove daily any natural and unnatural structures/shelters, that were erected during their operations. iii. User Groups agree to report any potential hazards or risks, as they see them. iv. User Groups will submit a request for dates and times to operate in Victoria Park to the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department. . For-Profit businesses/organizations are not permitted to operate in Victoria Park. Special permission may be granted to an organization who can prove their mandate amplifies and supports the Town's objectives for Victoria Park. Approved for-profit businesses/organizations must enter a user/rental agreement with the Town of Truro
