TOY 14 - Emergency Preparedness Policy Town of Yarmouth EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS POLICY Effective: March 17th, 2011 TOY 14 The risk of an incident cannot be totally eliminated; therefore the Town of Yarmouth will take the following steps to help ensure the proper reaction to any situation. 1.0 Provide initial first aid training and refresher training. 2.0 Ensure the appropriate number of first aid trained individuals at each work place at all times. 3.0 Provide transportation to a medical facility for injured persons. 4.0 Provide fire extinguishers and first aid kits at each Town owned facility and for all Town owned vehicles and (where practical) equipment. 5.0 Provide training on fire extinguisher use. 6.0 Provide communications in the form of cell phones or radios. 7.0 Provide at each Town owned facility, especially remote sites, an adequate civic address sign. 8.0 Provide an emergency evacuation / fire response plan (where required) for all Town owned facilities.
