<!-- image --> ## BYLAW NUMBER 212 A Bylaw of the Hamlet of Fort Liard in the Northwest Territories to provide for the establishment, operation, maintenance, and alteration of a sewage and solid waste disposal system, pursuant to the provisions of the Hamlet Act, R.S.N.W.T., 2003, c22.H-1 s.72,73(2), and 74 WHEREAS the Hamlet has found it necessary to establish sewage solid waste disposal site outside the hamlet boundaries; AND WHEREAS the Hamlet finds it necessary to provide for the operation, maintenance, and alteration of the sewage solid waste disposal site; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE HAMLET OF FORT LIARD, at a meeting duly assembled, enacts as follows: ## SHORT TITLE 1. This Bylaw may be cited as the "Waste Disposal Site Bylaw" ## INTERPRETATION 2. In this Bylaw: "Council" means the Council of the Hamlet; "Hamlet" means the Hamlet of Fort Liard in the Northwest Territories; "Waste Disposal Site" means the approved location for the disposal of all sewage and solid waste collected in the Hamlet of Fort Liard; "Mayor" means the Mayor of the Hamlet; and, "Senior Administrative. Officer" means the Senior Administrative Officer of the Hamlet ## AUTHORIZATION 3. The Hamlet shall authorize and regulate all substances that may be disposed at the site. 4. All costs incurred by the Hamlet will funded from general revenues and customer service charges. ## RESTRICTIONS 6. This bylaw prohibits the use of the sewage/solid waste site to anyone except those as authorized by the Hamlet its employees who are delivering waste material to the site, contractors who are contracted under an agreement with the Hamlet and any others who may be so authorized. 7. The dumping of toxic wastes or substances are subject to Federal and Territorial laws and shall be treated as such. ## LOCATION 8. Somes, par his bylat shows the location of the actual site is atached to, and ## EFFECTIVE DATE 9. This bylaw shall be effective upon third and final reading. ## REPEAL 10. Bylaw 94-59 is repealed. READ a First Time this 11 day of December 2008. READ a Second Time this 114 day of December 2008. APPROVED by the Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs 1 day of March 2010 READ a Third Time and finally passed this 11 * day of April 2010.
