Here's a simple method: 1. Measure the Load: Measure the length, width, and height of the load in feet. o Example: For a load that is 6 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 3 feet high. 2. Calculate Cubic Feet: Multiply the length, width, and height to get the volume in cubic feet. o Formula: Length (ft) × Width (ft) × Height (ft) o Example Calculation: 6 ft × 4 ft × 3 ft = 72 cubic feet 3. Convert to Cubic Yards: Divide the total cubic feet by 27 (since 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet). o Formula: Cubic feet ÷ 27 = Cubic yards o Example Calculation: 72 ÷ 27 = 2.67 cubic yards Load Type: FEE Half Ton (≈ 1 yd³ flat) $10.00 Small Trailer (≈ 2 yd³) $20.00 Box Spring/Mattress (≈ 1 yd³) $10.00 Hot Tub (≈5 yd³) $50.00 Couch (≈ 2 yd³) $20.00 Recliner/armchair (≈ 1.5 yd³) $15.00 Dresser (≈ 1.5 yd³) $15.00 Unacceptable Waste - Waste from outside the Township of Armstrong or the Township of Beachamp - Large plastic wrapping used by farmers for large bales of hay - Dead animals or parts of dead animals - Aerosol cans (full or partially full) - Automotive and Boat Batteries - Automotive fluids - Batteries - household (rechargeable and single-use) - Batteries - vehicle (automotive, marine, etc.) - Cleaners (bleach, oven cleaner, etc.) - Fertilizers - Finishing products (varnish, glue, etc.) - Gasoline - Household Batteries - Light bulbs and tubes - Motor oil - Paint (latex and oil, full or partially full) - Pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides - Pool chemicals - Propane tanks - Radioactive waste, biomedical waste, hazardous chemicals sharps - Solvents (varsol, paint thinners, etc.) **Keep an eye out for Hazardous Waste Days and Hardware Locations that accept these types of wastes THE LANDFILL WILL ONLY ACCEPT WASTE WITHIN THE CONDITIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE APPROVAL.
