THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH
BY-LAW NUMBER 41-2013
BEING A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH RESPECTING THE
GRANTING OF PERMITS FOR MOVING HEAVY VEHICLE LOADS
WHEREAS subsections 1 and 3 of Section 110 of the Highway Traffic Act (R.S.O.
1990, Chapter H.8) provides that:
1. The Municipal Corporation or other authority having jurisdiction over the highway may,
upon application in writing, grant a permit for the moving of heavy vehicles, loads,
objects or structures in excess of the dimensional limits set out in section 109 or the
weight limits set out in Part VIII.
2. The Council of any Municipality may by By-law provide that a permit referred to in
subsection (1) may be issued by an officer of the Corporation named herein.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ashfield-
Colborne-Wawanosh enacts as follows:
1. That the Public Works Superintendent be authorized to issue permits respecting the
moving of heavy vehicles, loads, objects or structures in excess of the dimensional limits,
as provided in subsection 1, 2, 3, and 5 of Section 110 of the Highway Traffic Act.
2. Such permit may be general, or may limit the time and the particular highway that may
be used, may contain conditions relating to fees, for the protection of persons and
property from injury or damage, and for the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh
for any possible damage to the highway.

The Schedules A, B, and C, attached hereto, shall form part of this By-Law as follows:
Schedule A - Annual Trip Permit for loads and vehicles less than 5 metres in total width
under 63,500 kg G.V.W.
Schedule B - Single Trip Oversize Load / Weight Permit for loads and vehicles 2.61
metres to 4.99 metres in width or up to 120,000 kg G.V.W.
Schedule C - Single Trip Oversize Load / Weight Permit for loads and vehicles 5 metres
and greater in width or over 120,000 kg G.V.W.
Read a FIRST and SECOND time this 17th day of September, 2013.
