THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF CARLOW/MAYO
BY-LAW NO. 20-2015
Being a By-law to prescribe the Speed of Motor Vehicles on Fort Stewart Road,
from 500 feet south of Stringer Road to Ramsbottom Road,
in the Township of Carlow/Mayo
for the purposes of a 40 kilometre per hour school zone
WHEREAS subsection 2 of Section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act (R.S.O. 1990,
Chapter H-8) authorizes the Council of a Municipality and the Trustees of a Police
Village, by By-Law to prescribe a speed limit of 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 kilometres
per hour for motor vehicles driven on any highway or portion of highway under its
jurisdiction;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed appropriate and reasonable that the speed limit be
decreased for motor vehicles on Fort Stewart Road, from 500 feet south of Stringer Road
to Ramsbottom Road, for the purpose of a posted 40 kilometre per hour school zone;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Carlow/Mayo
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the speed limit on Fort Stewart Road in the Township of Carlow/Mayo from 500
feet south of Stringer Road to Ramsbottom Road be reduced to 40 kilometres per hour
school zone.
THAT all former By-Laws contrary to this By-Law shall be repealed.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS
