MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL MANITOULIN
BY-LAW NUMBER 2024-09

BEING A BY-LAW OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL MANITOULIN
TO AUTHORIZE THE MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL MANITOULIN TO
REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT
IN
A
SPECIFIC AREA
IN THE
MUNICIPALITY.
WHEREAS ss. 11.(1) 1. of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001 c.25 provides
authority for a municipality to pass by-laws respecting parking and traffic on
highways, and parking, except on highways;
WHEREAS it is authorized under the Highway Traffic Act, Chapter H.8, part IX,
Section 128(2); and
WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Central Manitoulin deems it
advisable to reduce the speed limit on Coventry Road located in Sandfield starting
from the entrance on Highway 542 North to Highway 542 South. from unposted
speed limit to a posted 40 km/hr;
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL
MANITOULIN ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the 40 km/hr speed limit signs be erected at the places
listed above;
2. And that this by-law becomes effective on the date of its
passing.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS
11th DAY OF APRIL, 2024.
