# Current Zoning By-laws
The Official Plan sets out Clarington's general policies for future land use. Our Zoning By-laws implement the policies of the Official Plan and allow for its day-to-day administration by overseeing things like:
* Land uses (retail stores, factories, residential homes, etc.)
* The location of buildings
* Building size and height
* Building design
* Other provisions which result in high-quality development
Clarington has two zoning by-laws:
* **Zoning By-Law 84-63** regulates the development of land within Clarington between Lake Ontario and the Oak Ridges Moraine.
* **Zoning By-law 2005-109** applies to lands within Clarington that are located on the Oak Ridges Moraine.
