## THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF CONMEE BY-LAW NO. 941
Being a By-law to prohibit the obstructing, encumbering, injuring and fouling of bridges and highways in the Township of Conmee.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Conmee is authorized to pass a By-law pursuant to the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001 Part IlI, to prohibit or regulate the obstruction, encumbering, injuring or fouling of roads and bridges, and for prohibiting the throwing, placing or depositing of dirt, refuse or any other debris on any road or bridge.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Conmee deems it expedient to pass a By-law to ensure safe passage along all roads, and to reduce the inconvenience and nuisance to all residents or the general traveling public.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Conmee hereby enacts as follows:
1. No person shall build or maintain any fence on any highway within the Township of Conmee and any fence so built, maintained, or placed on any highway shall be removed by the Road Superintendent, after giving notice to the owner of the abutting property and the costs of the removal of said fence shall be a debt due and owing to the Township by the owner of the abutting property and shall be recoverable in the same manner as taxes.
2. No person shall throw, place, or deposit any dirt, filth, glass, handbills, paper or other rubbish or refuse or the carcass of any animal on any highway or bridge within the Township of Conmee or allow any dirt, filth, glass, handbills, paper or other refuse to fall or blow off of any motorized vehicle or a trailer pulled by any motorized vehicle on any highway or bridge within the Township of Conmee.
3. No person shall deposit snow or ice on a roadway or bridge within the Township of Conmee.
4. No person shall obstruct any ditch or culvert upon any highway within the Township of Conmee.
5. If a Court of competent jurisdiction should declare any section or part of a section of this By-law invalid, such section or part of a section shall be severed and the remainder of this By-law shall be valid and shall remain in force.
6. Every Person who contravenes any provision of this By-law is guilty of an offence and upon conviction is liable to a fine or penalty for each offence, exclusive of costs as prescribed in the Provincial Offences Act..
7. That By-law Number 672 be repealed.
