## BY-LAW 051-1996, OF THE CITY OF CORNWALL Litter Prohibition in the City of Corwall ************** WHEREAS the Corporation of the City of Cornwall is desirous of enforcing a prohibition of litter within its Municipal boundaries; and WHEREAS a litter prohibition is identified under the Highway Traffic Act, Chapter H.8, Section 180, R.S.O. 1990, and the Environmental Protection Act, Chapter E.9, Section 86, R.S.O. 1990; and WHEREAS a litter prohibition is also identified under the Municipal Act, Chapter M.45, Section 210, Subsection 82, R.S.O. 1990. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the City of Cornwall enacts as follows: 1. No person shall throw, place, or deposit refuse or debris on private property or on property of the municipality including along or adjacent to any municipal highway or any local board thereof, except in receptacles provided 2. That every person who contravenes the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to penalties as provided for in the Provincial Offences Act, Chapter P.33, R.S.O. 1990. 3. That by-law 115-1993 is hereby repealed.
