WHEREAS Pursuant to section 391 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, a municipality may pass by-laws imposing fees or charges on any class of persons, for services or activities provided or done by or on behalf of it; and, WHEREAS The Council of The Corporation of The City of Dryden deems it necessary and expedient to amend Chapter 259, Waterworks of the Municipal Code of The Corporation of The City of Dryden to update and provide for certain rates for the provision of water and wastewater (sewer) services in the City of Dryden; and, WHEREAS The Council has by by-law mandated the installation of water meters in all premises receiving piped water and wastewater (sewer) services within the City of Dryden with the intent that the charges for the provision of water and wastewater (sewer) services shall be based on a fixed monthly rate and a volumetric rate per cubic metre of water as measured by the water meters installed in the respective premises. NOW THEREFORE The Council of The Corporation of The City of Dryden enacts as follows: 1. THAT Chapter 259 - Waterworks is amended by deleting and replacing § 259-4. Monthly rate for waterworks services within City limits as follows: § 259-4. Rates for waterworks services within City limits. A. The water consumed on all premises in the City of Dryden shall be charged on a volumetric or per cubic metre basis at the rate as indicated in the table below: Water Supply Monthly Rate: $ 2.82/m³ B. Water meter fixed rates shall be charged on a monthly basis based on meter size as indicated in the table below: Meter Size Monthly Rate 5/8" $ 40.40 5/8 x 3/4" $ 40.40 3/4" $ 44.44 1" $ 56.57 1.5" $ 72.73 2" $ 117.17 3" $ 444.42 4" $ 565.60 Pit Meters Double the monthly rate as determined by meter size 2. THAT this By-law shall come into force and take effect on December 31, 2025. Enacted and passed this 15th day of December 2025 as witnessed by the Seal of the Corporation and the hands of its proper Officers.
