THE COR}ORATION OF THE TOWI\ OF ERIN BY-LAW #08 - 1,t Being a By-Law for the purpose of restricting load limits on roads within the Town of Erin WHEREAS, pursuarìt to Section 122 (7) of theHighway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter, H.8, as amended provides that: The municipal corporation or other authority having jurisdiction over a highway may by By-Law designate the date on which a reduced load period shall start or end and the highway or portion thereofunder its jurisdiction to which the designation applies; AND WHEREAS, the reduced load period is deemed necessary for the protection of certain highways in the Town of Erin; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Erin hereby ENACTS AS FOLLOWS; 1. The provisions ofsection 122 of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act provides the authority for the Corporation of the Town of Erin to pass a by-law to reduce the load limit on all highways within its jurisdiction when such roads are posted. 2. Every person who contravenes any provision ofthis By-Law is guilty of an offence and, upon conviction is liable to a fine as provided for in the Provincial Offences Act, R.S.O 1990, as amended. 3. This By-Law shall not become effective until appropriate signs have been erected in accordance with the regulations under the Highway T¡affic Act. 4.
