THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ESSA BY-LAW NO. 2009 ..J../d.. A By-law of the Corporation of the Township of Essa to provide for reduced load periods within the Township of Essa, and to repeal By-law 96-37. WHEREAS Section 122, Sub-Section 7 of the Highway Traffic Act (RSO 1990) as amended provides that: The Municipal Corporation or other Authority having jurisdiction over a highway may by By-law designate the date on which a reduced load period shall start or end and the highway or portion thereof under its jurisdiction to which the designation applies; and WHEREAS the reduced load period is deemed necessary for the protection of certain highways in the Corporation of the Township of Essa. NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Essa enacts as follows: 1. For the purpose of Section 122, Subsections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Highway Traffic Act a Reduced Load Period shall apply to the Highways listed in Schedule "A" to this By-law during the period from the 1st day of March to the 15th day of May, inclusive in each year. 2. Despite Section 1, the Roads Supervisor reserves the right to remove the prescribed signs and load restriction prior to May 15, if deemed appropriate. 3. This By-law shall apply to any highways not listed in Schedule "A" that in the future may be downloaded, assumed or newly constructed with having to amend immediately Schedule "A" of the By-law. 4. This By-law shall not become effective until appropriate signs have been erected and are on display. 5. By-law 96-37 be repealed.
