IN THE
REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF YORK
BYLAW NUMBER 2024~0041 (TR~1)
BEING A BY~LAW TO AMEND BY~LAW NO. 2023~0087
(TR~1), THE BY~LAW TO REGULATE TRAFFIC AND
CONTROL THE PARKING OF VEHICLES
WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Georgina wishes to amend
the following Sections and Schedules of By~law 2023~0087 (TR~1)
which regulates traffic and controls the parking of vehicles;

Section 1.0 Definitions
(j) "designated provision" means any section of this By~
law designated in accordance with section 6.0.
(x) "parking infraction notice" means an Administrative
Penalty
authorized
by
the
Administrative
Monetary
Penalty By~law No. 2022~0052 (REG~1), as amended,
and placed on any vehicle parked in contravention of this
By~law or served in accordance with the Administrative
Monetary Penalty By~law.
Section 3.3.1 (h) within the Waterfront Park Buffer Zone
Section 3.5.4 within the Waterfront Park Buffer Zone
Section 5.3 Fire Routes:
Upon the designation of a fire route and notice under the
Fire Protection and Prevention Act the following shall
apply:

7. When signs have been erected or notice has
otherwise
been
given
under Section
2.0
(f),
Section 5.4.5 and 5.4.6 every person shall obey
the
instructions
or directions
on any sign
so
erected.

6) Section 5.5 Parking on Private or Municipal Property
2. That the individuals named
in Column
1
of
Schedule A of By~law No. 2017~0050 (TR~1), as
amended, shall hold office during the pleasure of
Council and are hereby appointed Municipal Law
Enforcement Officers for the purpose of By~law
No. 2023~0087 (TR~1), as amended, but only in
respect of the corresponding properties named
and identified in Column 2 of Schedule A of By~law
No. 2017~0050 (TR~1), as amended.
Where no
municipal address is set out in Column 2 the said
officers may enforce By~law No. 2023~0087 (TR~
1), as amended, in respect of all the properties
located upon said streets listed in Column 2.
3. In enforcing By~law No. 2023~0087 (TR~1), as
amended, a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer
appointed under By~law No. 2017~0050 (TR~1), as
amended, may only take the actions authorized by
Section 5.5.1(a) of this By~law.
7) Section 6.0 Penalty Provisions for Parking Violation
1. A Police Officer or Municipal Law Enforcement
Officer,
upon discovery of any vehicle parked,
stopped or left standing
in contravention of the
provisions of Part A of this By~law, may serve an
Administrative Penalty to the Owner of the vehicle
in accordance with the Administrative Monetary
Penalty
By~law
No.
2022~0052
(REG~1),
as
amended.
The owner of the vehicle shall, upon
issuance of a penalty notice in accordance with
the Administrative Penalty By~law, be liable to pay
an administrative penalty and any administrative
fees, in accordance with the By~law.
2. Sections 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5,
3.6, 4.1, 4.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8 and 5.9 of
this
By~law
are
hereby
designated
for
the
purposes of section 3 of O. Reg. 333/07 as parts
of this By~law to which the Administrative Penalty
By~law applies.
8) Section 23.0 Penalty Provisions for Traffic Infractions:
Every person who contravenes any provision
within Part B of this By~law, upon conviction is
guilty of an offence and
is liable to a fine as
prescribed pursuant to the Provincial Offences
Act, as amended.

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF GEORGINA:
THAT By~law 2023~0087 (TR~1) as amended is hereby further
amended by:
Deleting therefrom all pages from sections and Schedule
V
and
replacing
same
with
all
pages
of
the
aforementioned sections and Schedules with the above
amendments.
