OFFICE CONSOLIDATION
A By-Law to Regulate Traffic on Highways in the
Municipality of Grey Highlands - As amended by By-
laws 2024-076, 2024-106, 2025-097
Whereas, the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, authorizes
the Council to pass By-laws regulating traffic on highways; and
Whereas, the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, h.8, as amended,
authorizes the Council to pass by-laws regulating traffic on highways; and
Whereas, it is deemed expedient to regulate or prohibit certain traffic
within the limits of the Municipality of Grey Highlands;
Now Therefore the Council of the Municipality of Grey Highlands
hereby enacts as follows:
1. That the intersections set out Schedule "A" of the by-law are hereby
designated as intersections where stop signs shall be erected facing
the direction of oncoming traffic at the highways shown on
Schedule "A"; and
2. That the regulatory signs set out in Schedule "B" of the by-law are
removed; and
3. That Schedule "A" and "B" attached hereto shall form part of this
by-law; and
4. That this By-law shall not become effective until the regulatory
signs have been erected, as indicated at locations in Schedule "A"
and in accordance with regulations of the Highway Traffic Act; and
5. That the penalties provided in the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to
offences against this by-law; and
6. That if any portion of this by-law contravenes a portion of a
previous by-law, the portion of this by-law shall prevail.
Read a first, second and third time, and finally passed on July 19 2023.
