CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN
BY-LAW NO. 2003-33

BEING A BY-LAW TO RESTRICT THE USE OF WATER IN THE
TOWNSHIP OF HAVELOCK-BEMONT-METHUEN
___________________________________________________________________________
WHEREAS Section 130 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001 c. 25 as amended, provides that
Council may pass a by-law for the health, safety, morality and welfare of the inhabitants of
the Municipality;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-
Methuen enacts as follows:
1.
That residents with odd street numbers may water on the odd days of the month
and residents with even street numbers may water on the even days of the month;
2.
And that the use of municipal water on lawns and/or gardens is hereby restricted to the
hours of between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each day for the months of June, July
and August.
3. Any person who contravenes the provision of this by-law is guilty of an offence
and shall be charged a $50.00 surcharge to be added to their water bill.
4.
That By-Law No.'s 1998-46 and 2001-49 are hereby repealed in their entirety.
5.
This by-law shall come into full force and effect upon the final passing thereof.
Read a FIRST, SECOND and THIRD time and finally passed in open Council this
22nd day of July, 2003.
