# Emergency Planning ![OFM EMO logo](/media/hpxbi2o0/ofm-emo-logos.jpg) The Province of Ontario, Emergency Management Ontario (EMO), coordinates a system of partnerships to manage emergencies in Ontario. Each municipality must develop and implement an emergency management program to protect the lives and property of its citizens. The Town of LaSalle: * Maintains a Town of LaSalle Emergency Response Plan * Holds bi-annual Emergency Management Program Committee Meetings * Identifies critical infrastructure - the important things we need: systems, buildings, technology, networks, and services that are essential for the health and safety, security, and economy * Completes annual training and exercises * Develops and implements public awareness campaigns --- LaSalle Emergency Alerts Mass Notification System The LaSalle Emergency Alerts system will be used to provide important information to you in times of emergency. Thinking about what you would do in different situations and preparing a plan with every member of your family is the first step to being prepared. Make your emergency plan today: Make a Plan Step 2: Build An Emergency Kit Your emergency survival kit should have everything you and your family would need to be safe and take care of yourselves for at least three days immediately following an emergency. Download the Canadian Red Cross build a kit list or purchase a kit online: Canadian Red Cross Kits Step 3: Stay Informed During an emergency, you should stay tuned to local news channels. Be sure to have a portable, battery-operated or crank radio in your survival kit in case of power outages.
