THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAGNETAWAN
BY-LAW No. 2002 - 20
Being a BY-LAW to Provide for the
Erection of Stop Signs at Intersections
within the Municipality of Magnetawan
WHEREAS Section 137of the Highway Traffic Act,R.S.0.1990,c.H.8,providesthat theCouncil
ofa Municipality may by By-law, provide for theerectionof stop signsat intersections on highways
under its jurisdiction, and every stop sign so erected shall comply with the regulations of the
Ministry;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Magnetawan hereby
enacts as follows:
Designated intersections where stop signs shall be erected:
The intersections on highways set out in Schedule "A" are designated as
intersections where stop signs shall be erected.
1)
By-law Maintenance
Additions and deletions to Schedule "A" of this By-law may be made when
deemed necessary by Council and such changes shall be made by a
Resolution in Council.
2)
Penalty
The penalty for a contravention of this By-law shall be the penalty set out in
the Highway Traffic Act and the provisions of the Provincial Offences Act
shall apply.
3)
Repeal
By-law No. 1998-39 (Township of Magnetawan); By-law No. 6-1993 (Village of
Magnetawan); By-law No. 1993-5 (Township of Chapman); By-law No. 1992-9
(Township of Chapman); By-law No. 1992-3 (Township of Chapman); By-law No. 4-
1991 (Village of Magnetawan); By-law No. 1990-14(Township of Chapman); By-law
No.7-1990(Villageof Magnetawan)and By-law No.5,1970(Villageof Magnetawan)
are hereby repealed.
Passed in open Council as read a First, Second and Third time
this 10th day of July, 2002.
