## Limit of Two Dogs per Dwelling Unit
No more than two dogs shall be harboured, at any one time, in a dwelling unit. Any person who harbours more than two dogs upon establishing residency on a property may apply in writing by email to [email protected]. A municipal law Enforcement Officer may authorize an exemption.
## Licensing
* Every dog owner shall register and obtain a dog licence annually
* A kennel licence is required to keep more than two dogs over 12 weeks of age at one location. A kennel operator with a kennel licence is not required to apply for individual dog licences for dogs harboured at the kennel. Kennels may only be licensed if they are located where kennels are permitted by the Zoning By-law.
### Dog Leashing Requirements
* Dogs must be leashed and held by someone who can control them using a leash no longer than 1.5 metres when in public
* Off-leash dogs are considered "at large" and may be seized or impounded if not properly contained or restrained.
