THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
BY-LAW NUMBER 2013-39
Being a By-Law to Authorize the Speed Limits on Municipal Roads
within the Township of Nipissing.
WHEREAS Section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8 (as amended)
allows the Council of a municipality to prescribe a speed limit on any highway under its
jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS Council for the Corporation of the Township ofNipissing held a public meeting on
November 19, 2013 to receive input on the speed limits.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township ofNipissing enacts as follows:
1.
A speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour is hereby established for all unposted roads under
the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Township ofNipissing.
2.
The penalties provided in subsection 14 of Section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act
R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8 shall apply to offences against this By-law.
